Safe Sanctuaries

Aldersgate United Methodist Church is committed to providing an environment for ministry that is as safe as possible for all, especially children, youth and vulnerable adults.

Aldersgate is also committed to taking the necessary precautions to protect any person working in our ministries from false accusation or suspicion.

Because of this commitment, we have adopted the attached Safe Sanctuary Policy.  The policy and its procedures set standards for the supervision of the vulnerable, no matter their age, that are in our care.  As a Christian community of faith and a United Methodist congregation, we pledge to conduct our ministries in accordance with this policy.

Providing a safe environment, physically, emotionally and spiritually, means that we must be ever vigilant.  We must continue to raise awareness and be on the lookout for potentially unsafe or inappropriate situations.  Education and awareness are the keys to prevention.  If we all work together, we can create and maintain a safe sanctuary environment for all.  If you have questions or need additional information about Aldersgate’s Safe Sanctuary Policy please email safesanctuary@aldersgate.ws
