Music Ministry

There is no end to the clichés one could spout about the importance of music in our lives. It is hard to imagine a world without music. The music programs at Aldersgate are conducted to help each participant deepen their devotion to Jesus even as we serve others through the ministry of music. Our groups are made up of individuals of varying degrees of skill and experience, and through hard work and shared ministry, we form a deep bond of friendship. Here are the current groups:

>>Kidsgate – Our children’s choir is incorporated into the Kidsgate activities and is led by Kirstin Briggs on Sunday evenings as part of our Pioneer Club program.  For more information, email Ms. Kirstin here

>>Women’s Ensemble- information to come!

>>Men’s Ensemble – The Men’s Ensemble is going to restart on Feb 15 and meet weekly at 5:45 – 6:30 PM in the Choir Room. We will sing music from a wide range of styles for our Worship services as well as various outreach performances. The men enjoy a relaxed atmosphere that allows for great fellowship as we enjoy great music together.

>>Handbells – The handbells meet Wednesday PM at 5:40 in the Choir Room. We play in services about once every 6-8 weeks. We range in skill levels from beginner to advanced, and we always have room for another ringer!

>>Chancel Choir – Rehearsals are at 6:45 on Wednesday evenings in the Choir Room.  Our repertoire spans the ages from Baroque to Modern Choral literature for church. If people ever make comments to you about how they enjoyed sitting near you and hearing you sing… you should consider joining the choir.

Instrumental Music – We often have opportunity to incorporate Strings, Wind, Brass and Percussion instruments in our worship. If you have experience and are interested in exploring the possibility of playing in church, please contact Dennis right away!
